Mechanic Helper/Highway Road Department

DEFINITION:

Under general supervision, is responsible for semi-skilled work for routine difficulty in servicing mechanized equipment; performs related work as required.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES:

Repairs flat tires; removes and mounts tires; change engine oil and filters; lubricates equipment; makes minor or routine mechanical repairs; does body repair work and spray paints equipment; sweeps and cleans shop.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: Ability to follow oral instructions.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent approved by Louisiana Department of Education

Training and Experience: Some experience in automotive mechanical work or vehicle operation.

License: Appropriate Vehicle Operator’s License
